What do these things have in common?
Right! They're all used to make wishes.
Pine needles, wishing wells, wishbones, 11:11's, Dandelions, "Starlight, Star bright, first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight", Shooting stars, candles, straw wrappers and throwing coins in a fountain.
Now I don't believe in cosmic forces, and I'm not superstitious, however, I do find it quite enjoyable to make wishes on simple things that we may not often pay attention to.
Tell me something. When you make a wish, are you a) the person who wishes for the same thing over and over again i.e. George Bailey "I wish I had a million dollars. Hot dog!" or b) a sensible person who wishes for different things?
Confession. I wish for the same thing.
Over and over and over again. It's never come true. And I know it probably won't. I think it's pretty rational, but it's a daydream and yet, I'm wishing that my wishes would come true. Wanna know a funny story? I wished on the first star for a few nights in a row, my wish not coming true and then I was on facebook and I saw one of those chain things where it says, "Make a wish at the countdown.... now forward this or your wish will be the opposite." Well I didn't forward it and I made my wish and what do you know, not even an hour later, my wish came true. Funny huh?
Wishes are funny things. And silly things at that.
Just a thought. A thought I thought I would share.
Happy Wishing :)
Love Jenny ♥
